Valencia vs Granada 27.04.2015 – La Liga

Granada-vs.-Valencia

Valencia vs. Granada / La Liga – Match between two teams who are in completely different situations, as Velencia is third before this round and is trying to qualify for the Champions League, while Granada is next-to-last and is very close to relegation to the Segunda. The teams play in accordance to their positions and Valencia lost in the previous round after a long series without defeat but that happened at the Nou Camp, while Granada didn’t win in the last six rounds when it lost all away matches and drew all played at home. It was like that in their first match of this season in Granada which ended by 1-1, while at the Mestalla Valencia regularly wins Granada. Begins: 27.04.2015 – 20:45 CET

Valencia

Valencia’s series without defeat was interrupted in the previous round but it is not a big surprise as they faced strong Barcelona away. Valencia has lost that match but it didn’t embarrassed itself and could easily pull a better result. The final 2-0 doesn’t reveal that they received the second goal late in the stoppage time and that had missed a penalty. They played with almost the strongest team, where Orban was again on the left flank and P. Alcacer had again gotten an advantage over Negredo in the top of attack.

There could be changes for this match so recovered Gaya goes on the left flank and Negredo could start the match this time. Dilemma is about midfielder Rodrigo, who has a problem with an injury and it is bad news as Piatti and E. Perez haven’t recovered yet. It is therefore possible that Paul gets a chance in the midfield.

Probable lineups Valencia: Diego Alves – Barragan, Mustafi, Otamendi, Gaya – Javi Fuego, Parejo – de Paul, A. Gomes, Feghouli – Negredo

Granada

The end of the season is getting closer and Granada’s problems are getting bigger. The safe zone is not too far but their shape is what worries as they didn’t win in the last six rounds, and they won just four times this season in total. They score goals only with tremendous difficulties and their defence is one of the weakest in the league. The good thing is that they at least don’t lose all matches played at home although the most common results are draws, and they are the record holders of the league with nine draws. They are the worst visiting team in the league and when it is known that this is one of the toughest possible it is clear that they have very little reason for optimism.

Kind of positive motivation for Granada can be the fact that they drew with Sevilla in the last round, which is a good result, regardless that the match was played at home. After a debacle in Almeria two rounds ago coach Resino had made several changes in the team so forward El-Arabi and midfielder Piti got a break, while midfielder J. Marquez was injured. They solidly resisted Sevilla but in the end they were panicky saving one point. Midfielder Ruben Perez will not play in this match as he is suspended, while Ibanez cannot play as he is loaned from Valencia. Colunga and two stoppers Babin and Murillo will also not play in this match.

Probable lineups Granada: Roberto – Nyom, Cala, Mainz, Insua – Fran Rico, Iturra – Candeias, Piti, Bangoura – El-Arabi

Valencia – Granada PICK

It is the fact that Granada is on the verge of abyss but this is not the away match where they can hope to win much needed points. They have to wait for easier opponents as many stronger teams didn’t do well at the Mestalla before, so what comes next is probably Valencia’s new victory.
